    Performing

In 1989, after getting a First Prize at International Festival of Throat-Singing, Nikolay Oorzhak together with fellow throat-singer Boris Kherly founded Ensemble Tuva. Meeting with great success, they toured internationally, including Norway, Sweden, Turkey and Mongolia.

"My creative work is being born from many years of experience. I always act following my imagination, when actions reveals
through my Temple of sound. Inside the sounds I intersperse the Algyshes - mysteries."

By today, Nikolay makes a brilliant career as singer and performer. Starting from clubs and local concerts, he at the moment a welcomed and honorary guest at different serious folklore and jazz festivals in Russia and Ukraine. Particularly, he reveals a unique talent of jazz performer, and is actually  develops a new direction in ethno-jazz - a "khoomei-jazz".

In December 1999 German TV channel  ARTE filmed a  documenatary in Tuva on his outstanding technique of shamanism and throat singing. Later German, Dutch, Russian and Ukrainian television made a special programs with about Nikolay.

Especially interesting was a live improvising concert in the forest together with famous Ukrainian performers Vladimir Soljanik and Enver Izmaylov (pictured by TV ICTV, Kiev).

Since 2006, together with Vladislav Matrenitsky, Nikolay developed a new concert style - meditative layered throat singing. Mesmerizing interlacing overtones evokes  a deeply reverberant vibrations in the body and restores the disbalanced energies in diseased organs,  initiating a process of recovery.
